Dear Supporters:

On behalf of the Board of Trustees of Roxbury Community College, I
wish to extend to you our gratitude for your continued support of this
fine educational institution. We deeply appreciate both your generous
financial contributions as well as the strong community advocacy of
RCC that you so willingly share with your Representatives, Senators,
and Colleagues.

As many of you know, I was a member of the second class to graduate
from this fine school, and I have been actively involved in RCC ever
since. I have watched the College, and our graduates, grow and
flourish. RCC had humble beginnings in 1973 when we opened the
school in its first location at Grove Hall in an automobile dealership.
It is truly remarkable to see the magnificent progress we have made in
twenty-six short years.

It was with the spirit and determination of the local community, a
community which includes many people who are here tonight to
celebrate with us, that RCC has evolved into a solid educational
presence, making a difference in the lives of our students, the
community, and the many organizations fortunate enough to hire our
graduates.

Thank you for your ongoing commitment to Roxbury Community
College; I know you will enjoy our gala. As you speak with some of
our students and graduates tonight I am certain you will learn of their
varied but equally impressive, career successes.

Roxbury Community College is indeed a place where futures begin.
Sincerely,

Sharif Abdal-Khallaq

Chairman of the Board of Trustees

ROXBURY COMMUNITY COLLEGE - UNITED FOR THE NE W MILLENNIUM

Dear Friends,

Welcome to Roxbury Community College's second annual fund raising
gala. We are delighted to again offer the opportunity to share with our
community the exciting and wonderful progress RCC has made over the past
year. The Board of Trustees, administration, faculty, staff and students have
worked to move the College to its next level of development. The coming
year will provide challenges, which we must undertake, and opportunities
for growth and development that we will provide. We must continue to
promote programs that reduce the cost to students for their education and yet
provide an increase in the resources required for excellence in teaching and
learning.

The agreement between Roxbury Community College and Northeastern
University has had unparalleled success. The Summer Enrichment Program
exceeded our expectations for fourteen students who were jointly
shepherded by the faculty of both institutions. New program development
and our participation with key community leaders and businesses ensures the
future and buttresses the long term goal of raising the socioeconomic status
of all of greater Roxbury.

As we stand United for the Millenium, we offer our thanks to our corporate
sponsors, our media partners and all of our friends and supporters for
helping to make every student of RCC as successful as possible. Most of all,
we thank the students we serve, for making us proud.

On behalf of the Roxbury Community College family, we wish you peace,
love and joy and a millennium that is stunning, dazzling and magnificent.

Dear Friends and Colleagues of Roxbury Community College,

It is an honor and a privilege to congratulate Roxbury Community College (RCC)
on 26 years of excellence in service to the community. For over a quarter of a century
RCC has delivered educational opportunities to countless numbers of people in the
Boston area who, in turn have been able to provide a better quality of life for themselves
and their families.

Although these are tough times for RCC right now they will not last and the
storms will eventually pass. The words of Martin Luther King are so appropriate at times
like these as I paraphrase, "The true measure of any organization is not what they do in
times of comfort and convenience, but it is what they do in times of conflict and
controversy." RCC should be commended because you have done great things with
limited resources amidst insurmountable odds.

Again, I congratulate RCC for its excellence in service and its commitment to the
people of this community.

Dear Dr. Brown & Friends of Roxbury Community College:

I applaud you and the staff of Roxbury Community College (RCC) for the valiant efforts
to provide a quality education to the students of RCC. I would also like to offer my
sincere appreciation for your dedication and leadership to improving the quality of life
for the residents of the Greater Roxbury Community.

My goal is to ensure that RCC obtains the necessary resources to prepare its students for
the technological demands in the next millenium. Looking ahead / as we begin to analyze
the initial results of education reform including high school senior testing requirements,
RCC's challenge will be even greater. I am committed to help RCC meet this challenge.

We will continue to rely on RCC to produce individuals with character, commitment and
leadership. Again, congratulations to the entire RCC family and we wish you the best as
you celebrate 26 years of service.

Dear Friends of Roxbury Community College:

It is with great pride that I congratulate Roxbury Community College on its 26th Year
Anniversary. It is a measure of your excellence and contributions to the community that
so many people have gathered to recognize you tonight.

Many citizens of Greater Boston clearly owe R.C.C. a debt of gratitude for providing
educational opportunities that have helped shape their lives and enabled them to become
better providers to their families. Throughout the years, the employees and faculty have

Dr. Grace C. Brown

President

Roxbury Community College

1234 Columbus Ave.

Roxbury Crossing, MA 02120

Dear Dr. Brown and Supporters of Roxbury Community College,

Congratulations on the celebration of the 26 th Anniversary of dedication and
service to the residents of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. The communities of
Roxbury, Mattapan, Dorchester, Jamaica Plain, and the South End have enjoyed the
support, friendship and leadership that RCC has provided to us all.

The host community of Roxbury has benefited from your "good neighbor policy"
by utilizing programs, the physical plant and special events. The relationship is based on
respect and trust. It is a model for institutional and residential partnerships.

As we watch 1999 end and we look to the future we must continue to support the
mission of RCC. We must provide the funding and tools to allow our citizens the best
opportunity to succeed in a global economy while improving "quality of life" in our own
communities. RCC is our vehicle for that journey.

I join with many others in wishing you well and pledging my continued support.

Regards,

Kevin Fitzgerald^

Dear Friends:

Unfortunately, another commitment makes it impossible
for Kitty and me to join you at the Gala on December 11.

We will be there in spirit, however, and we want to
congratulate everybody who has made it possible for Roxbury
Community College to celebrate twenty-six years of service
to the Commonwealth and the community.

I well remember the struggles we had in winning the
support of the legislature and the broader community as
we planned a community college for Roxbury. It wasn't easy,
but I am very proud of what we were able to do together,
and I look forward to even greater things from the College
as we enter a new mi 11 en i urn.

Good luck as you go forwajm, and thankiTfor^elping
